The headline

Volleyball reached 600,451 reported high-school participation entries.

The National Federation of State High School Associations reports more than 8.4 million high-school sports participation entries across all sports for 2025-26. Volleyball remains one of the country’s most widely offered and played school sports.

Methodology and sources

How to read these numbers.

All figures on this page come from the National Federation of State High School Associations 2025-26 Sports Participation Survey. The survey reports participation and school-sponsorship data submitted by state high-school associations.

The growth figure is supported by the NFHS September 2026 participation release, which reports the year-over-year increase in girls volleyball.

Club IMUA Volleyball will refresh this page when the next national survey is published. Source figures are presented as reported, with no estimates added.
