Founded 2018 · Tulsa, Oklahoma
Club IMUA was built on a simple belief: every young athlete deserves world-class coaching, a supportive community, and the chance to move forward — on the court and in life.
How It All Started
In 2018, Coach Leilani Kahale moved from Hawaii to Tulsa and noticed something missing — a volleyball program that combined elite training with the warmth and community spirit she grew up with. So she built one.
Starting with a single 12U team and a borrowed gym, Club IMUA quickly became something bigger than volleyball. Parents showed up not just to cheer, but to help. Players stayed not just to compete, but to belong.
Today, IMUA fields four competitive teams across four age groups, trains out of our own facility, and has sent athletes to colleges across the country. But the mission has never changed: move forward, together.
"IMUA means move forward in Hawaiian. That's not just our name — it's our promise to every athlete who walks through our doors."
— Coach Leilani Kahale, Founder
What We Stand For
We lead with love, respect, and generosity — on the court and off. Every player, parent, and coach is part of our ohana.
We hold ourselves to the highest standard — not just in wins and losses, but in effort, attitude, and growth every single day.
Volleyball is better together. We build lasting friendships, support local families, and invest in Tulsa's youth sports culture.
IMUA means "move forward" in Hawaiian. We teach our athletes to push through adversity, embrace challenges, and never quit.
